My name is Sophie, and I create all of the pieces here at Creek Days. All of my pieces are carefully designed, slow made, and crafted by hand.

I primarily construct my pieces with lightweight polymer clay, wire, crystals, and glass beads. I have been working with clay since 2012, and it has been a passion of mine since childhood. Many days were spent creating jewelry, and I used to set up a stand to sell my work outside my home. I learned many of my clay techniques from my Mom, a pastry chef by trade who creates elaborate sugar sculptures out of fondant and pastillage. Creek Days is a small business created to share my longstanding joy of creating and working with this medium, amongst others.

“Creek Days” pays homage to my upbringing in the Appalachian mountains, where days spent outside in my beautiful surroundings inspire a sense of immense nostalgia many of my pieces reflect. I aim to replicate this nostalgia in my pieces by incorporating a variety of motifs that are meaningful to me; from fresh picked wild blackberries, to mod patterns inspired by the 1970s. I hand sculpt the majority of my work, and strive to avoid the use of stamps and molds (aside from specialty items such as our cameos). Each piece is entirely and wonderfully unique, just like you!

When I am not creating for Creek Days, I am a full-time student of philosophy and political science, with the intention of pursuing law. I enjoy to write, antique, and cook. I have always found creating and working with my hands to be an incredibly grounding experience, and there is something beautiful in witnessing your ideas come to life through your own hands.

I hope you love the shop! ♡
